Real Madrid, Man City in Talks Over Erling Haaland
Real Madrid and Manchester City are apparently in talks over a potential swap deal.
According to recent reports, Los Blancos are looking to attain the services of City’s star striker, Erling Haaland. In exchange, they are willing to hand over their Brazilian forward, Vinicius Jr., to the English Premier League (EPL) club.
After joining City in July 2022, Haaland has scored 52 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions for the club.
However, for the past few months, speculation has been running rife that the 23-year-old Norwegian international may be looking to join Real Madrid – his “preferred destination”, if these reports are to go by – in the near future.
As for Vinicius Jr., he previously expressed an interest in leaving La Liga due to being the target of racial abuse by fans during matches.
Haaland’s contract with Man City runs until 2027. Regardless, it’s still conceivable for a club such as Real Madrid to sit down with the reigning EPL champions to negotiate a deal that could benefit both parties in terms of playability and finance.
Until then, Real Madrid must content themselves with only watching Haaland in action when the Citizens take on the La Liga giants in their UEFA Champions League match in Madrid, Spain next Tuesday, 9 April.
